Last week I attended Spring Fling, a conference held every two years by the Chicago North RWA® chapter. I had a great time hanging out, attending workshops, catching up with some old friends, and giving my very first solo workshop. I was nervous going in, because I’d sat through some excellent speakers.
“What was I thinking?” I asked myself in utter panic. “I’m not going to tell anyone anything they haven’t already heard a million times before.”
And then my laptop decided to crash. I got the blue screen of death several times in a row. Since my presentation heavily relied on Power Point, I really couldn’t give my workshop without it.
Thank goodness for Dropbox and for the kind soul who lent me her laptop at the last possible moment. I was able to give my workshop, and people told me afterwards it was good (and if you were just being polite, kindly do not burst my bubble here 🙂 ).
So here’s my issue. In my mild state of panic, I did not get the name of the person who lent me her laptop. If you recognize yourself in these words, please contact me. I’d love to send a proper thank you the way my mom raised me.
