My fellow Starcatcher/Firebreathing Unicorn, Arlene Hittle, has tagged me for a Sunshine Award (greatly needed around here this gray and rainy end-of-May weekend).
The Sunshine Award is a lovely sunny flower that bloggers give to other “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.”
(Really? Sarcastic little ol’ me? OK, I’ll run with it.)
As with most awards, ‘The Sunshine Award’ comes with a few simple rules:
(1) Thank the person who gave you the award in your blog post.
(2) Do the Q&A below.
(3) Pass on the award to 10 – 12 deserving and inspiring bloggers, inform them and link to their blogs.
Thank you, Arlene, for giving me an excuse to, you know, actually update this blog. AND it allows me to procrastinate. I call that win-win.
Rule 2, Q&A
Favourite Colour: Blue, but not just any shade of blue. It has to be the really deep, deep blue you see in the sky on a sunny summer day. The kind of blue the sky most definitely is not today.
Favourite Animal: Anyone who has seen my Facebook knows the answer to this one. Cats. I’m a cat person. My older daughter never made me so proud as the day she told me her ambition is to become a crazy cat lady when she gets old enough. I’d be right there with her, but I’m not sure my husband would be happy about that.
Favourite Number: Five. Don’t ask why. Actually, it’s from an in-joke when I was in high school, and the joke was so in, I don’t remember what it was about anymore.
Favourite Non-alcoholic Drink: Iced tea, the way my mom makes it. That’s a pot of strong sun tea cut half and half with lemonade flavored Crystal Light.
Facebook or Twitter: Oh, probably Twitter, only because it has fewer annoying games. And I found it dead useful when I was still looking for an agent. It’s a socially acceptable way to stalk publishing-industry figures.
Your Passion: Gotta be that feeling of getting completely lost in a good story. That can be through various means–whether I’m reading, watching a movie or TV show, or writing it myself.
Giving or Getting Presents: I love finding and giving the perfect present.
Favourite Day: Any day I’m feeling confident in what I’m doing and the writing just flows.
Favourite Flower: I know how my mom would answer this. She used to love to remind me how, when I was of an age to be pushed in a stroller, I’d only call brown-eyed Susans “flower.” And she’d have to pick me one. But I also love the smell of hyacinths.
Rule 3. Spreading the love.
I am honestly not good at this tagging business, so let’s just say anyone who wants to take the meme and run with it.
